U.S. citizens need a valid passport, or a birth certificate plus driver’s license or other official photo I.D.; a visa is not necessary. Customs declaration forms must be completed upon arrival. The departure tax is approximately U.S. $17. As of December 31, 2006, travelers will be required to have a passport. Non-U.S. citizens should consult the Mexican Embassy for entry requirements.
