Hawaii Water Activities
As Hawaii is a group of islands, there is a plethora of water activities and watersports to choose from when on your Hawaii vacation.
Hawaii Surfing
Every winter, the best surfers in the world arrange to meet one another on this piece of coastline that the Hawaiian call "ten miles of miracles." In winter time, depressions forming in open sea, off the Aleutian Islands, send swells on a regular basis that sometimes are over 30 feet high. From mid-November to Christmas time the "Triple Crown" is held, which regroups three competitions and crowns the best surfer of the North Shore as well as the champion of the world.
Hawaii Fishing
Hawaii has always been famous as a world renowned fishing destination. Catches of Pacific Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Black Marlin, Spear fish, Mahi Mahi, Yellow fin Tuna, Big eye Tuna, Skipjack Tuna, Ono (Wahoo), Amberjack Snapper, Grouper and Giant Trivally hit the docks daily.
Hawaii Sailing
Most of Hawaii's coastline beauty can only be accessed from the sea. Nothing can match the quiet solitude of sailing along the clear blue seas while viewing water falls, rocky cliffs, pristine beaches and the occasional dolphin playing alongside the boat.
Hawaii Diving
Hawaii has some of the world's top rated dive sites and is home to 450+ marine species of which 30% are found no where else in the world. On your dives you can expect to see many varieties of fish, green sea turtles, moray eels, manta rays, sharks, spotted eagle rays, Hawaiian monk seals, and possibly Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins or humpback whales.
Hawaii Snorkeling Cruises
Many of Hawaii's best snorkel destinations can only be accessed by boat. Many of the charters are sail/snorkel charters that give you the benefit of both a sailing adventure and a chance to stop and cool off along the way.
Hawaii Submarine Rides
The next best thing to diving! If you want to see the underwater wonder of Hawaii but don't want to get wet doing it, take a Hawaiian submarine ride.
Hawaii Whale Watching
Hawaii is the host to many species of whales and dolphins. The most spectacular of these are the humpback whales with their breaching (jumping out of the water) and their fluke flapping (waving aloha) antics. Hawaiian Spinner Dolphins are a common site and they can jump more than 30 feet in the air and love to play in the wakes of boats. Sperm whales, pigmy whales and pilot whales are just a few more of the animals you might run across on one of these excursions

Hawaii, known for its surfing and sun, also is famous for its shopping. Hand-made Hawaiian crafts and major chain stores can be found in Honolulu and the other major Hawaiian islands. On every corner you can find Hawaiian souvenirs, such as the famous Hawaiian-print shirts. Oahu alone has 1,000 stores and 11 major shopping centers. Maui contains numerous art galleries with works made by natives, and, of course, shopping centers that sell items ranging from cheap trinkets to elegant Versace outfits. The Big Island is also host to many shopping centers in its tourist areas.
Hawaii Tennis
Tennis and golf go hand-in-hand, so expect to find many tennis courts in Hawaii. Most major resorts feature private tennis courts that you can play on for a fee.
