Jamaica Restaurants and Bars

Restaurants in Jamaica reflect the diversity of its people. Jamaica food has African, European, Asian, and Middle Eastern influences that combine to form a unique Jamaican cuisine. Restaurants cater to those seeking both fine cuisine and home cooking, as both genres are dotted across the island's popular resort regions and in rural mountain areas, with prices varying throughout. Authentic Jamaican food includes grilled meats and smoked fish, spicy seafood dishes, and lots of jerk (it's a spice, not an insult!). To complement the food, many restaurants serve customers on outdoor terraces so they can enjoy the Jamaican scenery. Here are a few restaurant suggestions:

Jamaica Nightlife
Consistent with most Caribbean destinations, Jamaica is home to many large all-inclusive resorts that have their own performance centers, bars, and nightclubs. When touring the island of Jamaica, be sure to stop by these cities to party:

Negril Nightlife: Rick's is the most popular hotspot in Negril, where you can grab a cocktail, watch the sunset, observe the cliff divers, and if you're lucky, catch a flash of green light during the sunset. Legend says that if a couple spots the green flash, they will experience true love. Sandals Negril Beach Resort and Hedonism II are also popular late-night destinations.

Montego Bay Nightlife: Glistening Waters Marina Restaurant has a disco and is a great way to kick off your exciting evening. For an exotic Jamaican experience you can book a trip on Evening on the Great River, which includes a river boat ride, open bar, dance performances, limbo, and more. During your Jamaica vacation be sure to check out Margueritaville, a sports bar by day and hopping bar and dance club by night, occasionally featuring themed parties.

Kingston Nightlife: Club Asylum and nearby Junkanoo Lounge are popular destinations for tourists in Kingston, Jamaica. Club Habibi offers themed party nights, and the theme is always Latin at Mingles Pub and Pool Bar. Redbones Blues Café gives its guests a more sophisticated ambiance. Fun for the whole family can be found at Centerstage Theatre, where most acts are performed in native Jamacian languages.

Ocho Rios Nightlife: Resorts provide their own sources of entertainment in this Jamaican city. The most popular late-night destination is the Jamaic'N Me Crazy nightclub, known for being reminiscent of New York City nightlife.

It is important to note that despite certain stereotypes and rumors, mind altering drugs are illegal in Jamaica, and being caught with them on the island could land you in jail.
