Nightlife
Puerto Rico Nightlife:
In general, nightlife revolves around the large Puerto Rico resorts and hotels, many of which offer their own performance theaters, casinos, bars, and discos. The dress code is casual, but not too casual, as some places will not let you in with just a T-shirt and jeans.
Known as the Caribbean capital of nightlife, San Juan is loaded with bars, casinos, and hopping nightclubs. Calle San Sebastián is the most famous San Juan hotspot with its numerous clubs in a close proximity. Santurce is the more cultural area of San Juan and is filled with restaurants and museums, especially down Ponce de León Avenue. Isla Verde in the greater San Juan area is home to many of the large Puerto Rican resorts and hotels and is lively till the wee hours of the morning. Bar hopping is popular among San Juan visitors.
Outside of the Puerto Rican capital, you can party at Dorado, Rio Grande, Ponce and Mayagüez resorts. Ponce, located in the southern region of Puerto Rico, has La Gauncha boardwalk. In the rustic town of Piñones, you can enjoy the Brazilian jazz trios and reggae bands on the streets. Luquillo beach has 80 to 90 kiosks every night that blast music, offer Puerto Rican specialties, and sell hand-made crafts. The small village of Parguera is a party town until the midnight curfew and features the famous Phosphorescent Bay. Another option is to rock out at the outdoor concerts in the Puerto Rican town of Boqueron and then dance the night away in one of its many bars and nightclubs. On the small island of Vieques, you'll find the nightlife centered around Esperanza, where you can take a stroll on the beach and party in the local nightclubs.
